Looking around for my tonic of life,
I turn back, disillusioned.
Feeling helpless is the worst feeling, ever.
It’s bleak and foggy as I try to look beyond the immediate.
Steel cuffs frozen on wrists,
Imaginary shackles in a seemingly free life.
Dripping in dark hope and shadows of pretence,
Giggles of false gaiety, bitter tears tactfully hidden.
Will I ever see some light?
I continue my search.
Enamored with youth.
